LOWDOWN: I have been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Mucinous Subtype. Stage One.

ER 91 to 100%, PR 81 to 90%, HER2 negative.

So what on earth does this mean?

This subtype of breast cancer is rare, making up around only 2 % of all incidences of breast cancer. It is usually a slow growing and lazy cancer, with less chances of spreading through the body. My cancer is hormone influenced, which means hormonal therapy will be in my near future. Hello menopause!

Here is the weird part. This cancer normally occurs in women over the age of 70 years old with other health issues. Hmm. This is not me. This is the reason I am undergoing genetic testing to understand my particular cancer. This will determine what my treatment will look like, post-op.
